I build websites for small businesses in Exeter and East Devon. Fixed price, agreed before I start. Most sites are live in about two weeks.

Starter

£595one-off, no VAT

One page, built to make you look legitimate and get you found locally.

  • Everything on one scrolling page
  • WhatsApp button and a contact form
  • Google Business Profile connected

Live in about a week.

What is included

Everything sits on one scrolling page. A clear headline saying what you do and where, your services, the towns you cover, your reviews, a gallery of your work, and a contact form that lands straight in your inbox.

Includes a WhatsApp button so people can message you in one tap, your Google Business Profile connected so you can appear in local map results (no profile yet? Setting one up from scratch is a £125 add-on), and basic on-page SEO with your trade and your area written into the page properly.

This is for sole traders who currently have nothing, or a Facebook page doing the job of a website. If someone Googles you and finds nothing, this fixes it.

Premium

£1,750one-off, no VAT

Up to ten pages, built to compete in local search.

  • Pages of their own for your main services and towns
  • Filterable gallery of your work
  • Quote request flow, and a blog if you want it
  • A simple logo, included free

Live in three to four weeks.

What is included

Everything in Standard, plus pages of their own for your main services and the towns you cover. That is the whole point. Instead of one page competing for "driveways Devon" against everyone, you get a page for driveways in Cullompton, one for Honiton, one for Exmouth. Those are the searches that turn into phone calls.

Up to ten pages in all: home, about, gallery and contact, plus six for your services and towns, for example three of each. Need more? An extra page is £125, and an extra town page £95.

Also includes a filterable gallery so people can find the type of job they want doing, a quote request flow that asks the right questions so you stop wasting time on tyre kickers, and a blog set up and ready to use if you want it.

This is for businesses covering multiple areas or offering several services who want to stop paying for leads and start generating their own.

The price you see is the price you payI am not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add. The only other cost is your domain name, about £12 a year, registered in your name.

My guarantee.

Four promises, so the risk sits with me and not with you.

Love the first version, or your deposit back

You see a working first version within seven working days of sending your photos and notes. If it is not what you hoped for, tell me within seven days of seeing it and I refund your deposit in full within 14 days. The unfinished design is not handed over.

Live on the date I give you, or £100 off

For each week or part week it is late, up to the whole second payment, as long as your photos and words reach me by the date we agree. If your feedback or sign-off takes longer than we agreed, the date moves on by the same number of days.

The price I quote is the price you pay

No extras on the invoice and no VAT on top. Your domain name, about £12 a year in your name, is the only other cost. The second half is only due when you are happy for the site to go live.

Anything wrong in 90 days, fixed free

If something does not work as we agreed in the first 90 days after launch, I put it right at no charge.

What it costs over three years.

The build price is only the start. Here is what a five page website typically costs by the end of its third year.

After three years

Without a care plan, £454 to £6,914 less than every other option here. With the Essentials plan, it is still less than any WordPress site here.

  1. ExeWebWorks Standard£950 once, plus about £12 a year for the domain About £990
  2. ExeWebWorks with Essentials£950 once, then £25 a month for the care plan About £1,890
  3. A monthly website plan£0 to £300 to start, then £40 to £80 a month £1,440 to £3,180
  4. WordPress with maintenance£800 to £2,500 to build, then £40 to £150 a month £2,240 to £7,900

£0 without a care plan

After three yearsAbout £990

£950 once, plus your domain at about £12 a year. Yours outright, nothing to update, and you can edit it yourself. A care plan is optional: with Essentials at £25 a month, it is about £1,890 after three years.

Market figures are typical prices from published price lists and pricing guides for Exeter and East Devon in October 2026 (BizHub365 pricing guides and the Nettl Exeter price list). The monthly plans and WordPress maintenance include hosting and support; my figure is the site without a care plan, and with the Essentials plan it comes to about £1,890 after three years. Other quotes often add VAT on top, which VAT-registered businesses can usually claim back. Mine have no VAT.

What every site includes.

Whichever package you pick, you get the same foundations. The words are included too: send me notes or a voice note and I write every page so it sounds like you.

Care plans.

Your website is not finished the day it goes live. The everyday changes you make yourself, free. The bigger jobs, I do for you on a care plan.

£0a month for hosting

I do not charge you for hosting. Your site runs on my Cloudflare and GitHub accounts, which cost nothing, so charging you for it would be dishonest. If that ever changes, or I stop trading, you get three months’ notice and I move the site to your own accounts free. What you pay for is the work the editor cannot do, and someone who picks up when something needs sorting.

You, in the editorThe everyday changesFree

  • New prices and opening hours
  • This week’s photos
  • The wording on any page
  • Hiding a seasonal offer, and bringing it back

Me, on a care planThe bigger jobsFrom £25 a month

  • Changes you would rather hand over
  • A new service with its own section
  • Checks that the site and its form keep working
  • On Growth, your Google Business Profile kept current; on Priority, whole new pages and seasonal pages too

Essentials

£25a month

30 minutes of changes done for you each month

  • Domain and SSL looked after, every version backed up
  • Uptime and contact form monitoring
  • Changes sent on WhatsApp, no ticket system

Growth

£55a month

90 minutes of changes done for you each month

  • Ninety minutes a month for new sections, services and gallery work
  • Google Business Profile kept current
  • Quarterly traffic and enquiry summary

Priority

£95a month

Four hours of changes done for you each month

  • Four hours a month, including whole new pages
  • Seasonal landing pages, put up and taken down
  • Done by the next working day
  • It is rolling monthly with thirty days’ notice, so you can cancel whenever you want, and there is no twelve-month contract. Pay for a year up front and you get twelve months for the price of ten. Cancel during a paid year and I refund the rest, with the months you have used charged at the monthly price.
  • Work is done within three working days, or by the next working day on Priority. Send it over on WhatsApp: no ticket system, no support portal. Time you do not use carries over to the next month, then lapses.
  • No plan? That is fine. You still have the editor for everyday changes, and anything bigger is £50 an hour, billed in 15-minute blocks, as and when you need it.

    Live in around two weeks.

Worked out from the published prices. You get a fixed quote, agreed before any work starts.

    The questions people actually ask.

If yours is not here, send it over. You will have an answer the same working day.

    Ask a question
Can I edit the site myself?

Yes. Every site comes with a simple editor. Go to your site’s /edit page, sign in with a code sent to your email, and change text, photos, buttons and sections, or hide a seasonal offer. You can’t break the design, and every version is kept, so any change can be undone. For bigger changes, message me.

What if I do not like what you make?

Then you do not pay for it. You see a working first version within seven working days of sending your photos and notes. If it is not what you hoped for, tell me within seven days of seeing it and I refund your deposit in full within 14 days; the unfinished design is not handed over. After that, the second half is only due when you are happy for the site to go live.

What if I do not want a care plan?

Then do not take one. The site is yours and it keeps working, hosting costs you nothing (if that ever changes, or I stop trading, you get three months’ notice and I move the site to your own accounts free), and you have the editor for everyday changes. There is no fee to leave. Anything bigger is £50 an hour, billed in 15-minute blocks, as and when you need it.

Who owns the site and the domain?

You do. The domain is registered in your name and your business details, not mine, and you get its login. The site itself runs on my Cloudflare and GitHub accounts, at no cost to you, with every version saved. If you ever want to leave, I move it to your own accounts or send you every file. It is plain HTML, so it runs on any host, with no platform to export it from. The contact form sends through my own form service, and if you leave I help you switch it to one of yours, so enquiries keep arriving. Nothing is held hostage.

Can you redesign my existing site?

Yes, at the same prices as a new site: £595, £950 or £1,750, depending on how many pages you need. I keep what still works, move your words and photos across, and point the pages Google already knows about to their new addresses, which protects the rankings you have built up as far as anyone can. Google decides rankings, so nobody can promise them. That includes sites on WordPress, Wix or Squarespace.

Why is this more than a £99 website?

Many £99 sites are templates on a platform you rent. Stop paying and they disappear, and the domain is often not in your name. Mine is built for your business, written around the work you actually do, and it stays yours. You pay once and own it.

    How long does it take?

About two weeks for a five page site, once you have sent me your photos. One page sites are usually a week. I give you the live date on the first call and I hold to it. If I miss it, you get £100 off for each week or part week it is late, as long as your photos and words reach me by the date we agree.

    How does payment work?

Half when we start, half when you are happy for the site to go live. Bank transfer, and a proper invoice for your books. The price agreed on the first call is the price on the invoice, with no VAT to add, because I am not VAT registered.

    Do you reward referrals?

Yes. If you send someone my way and they go ahead, I send you £100 as a thank you once their site is live. If you recommend me in public, for example in a local Facebook group, please mention that you get a thank-you for it, as the rules on reviews require.

    What I do not do.

Being straight about this saves us both time.
